BTB 2007s & 2005s Prepare for Nationals

The BTB 2007 and 2005 High Performance teams had a very successful weekend. The 2007s squared off with the top AYSL 06 team Calgary West, and fought to a very close 3-2 loss. The next day the 2007s took on the top AYSL 07 team Calgary Foothills, in a highly competitive game that ended in a 1-1 draw. The BTB 2005 team took on Kings University men's team and came out on top with a 4-2 win.

Each game allowed the BTB sides to have every player compete at a high level and prepare for the upcoming Toyota Canada Soccer National Championships, in Prince Edward Island, (u15), and Surrey, BC (u17), October 5-10th.

"We had a successful weekend in Calgary preparing for nationals in less than two weeks. The goal going into the weekend was to implement every thing we have been working on at the training ground in all five phases of the game against two strong opponents (attacking organization, defensive transition, defending organization, attacking transition, and set pieces), noted BTB TD Kondeh Mansaray. "We accomplished this with no injuries and with the ability to rotate all 18 players with at least 45-60 minutes of game play. We look forward to the final preparations this week and thank both Calgary clubs for hosting us."
